Human Remains Found after Barn Fire Outside of Silverton
(September 11, 2014, 9:58 am) SILVERTON, Ore. The Marion County Sheriff's Office and the Oregon State Fire Marshal's Office are working to determine the cause of the fire.

On September 4 at approximately 1:00 a.m., detectives with the Marion County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Unit were called to a barn fire on Lori Lane NE near Silverton.

Throughout the summer months Marion County Public Works has been working feverishly to upgrade several school zones with new signs and in some areas install flashing lights signaling the school zone.

Beginning Tuesday, you can expect to see Marion County Sheriff Office Deputies in several of these school zones. In addition to school zones, drivers are also reminded to watch for school buses flashing their lights to indicate they are stopping to load or unload students.
