Medford Man Arrested After Fleeing Stolen Vehicle on I-5 near Wilsonville

Oregon State Police say the incident began when troopers were notified of a recklessly driven SUV northbound on Interstate 5 near Salem.

— Oregon State Police with the assistance of Wilsonville Police Department, arrested a 29-year old male Thursday after the suspect fled a stolen vehicle on foot and was found several minutes later by Wilsonville police.

Oregon State Police report that at approximately 12:37 p.m., troopers were notified of a recklessly driven GMC Envoy sport utility vehicle northbound on Interstate 5 near Salem. The license plate information indicated the vehicle was stolen out of Medford.

At 12:47 p.m., OSP troopers found the vehicle abandoned on the left northbound shoulder in Wilsonville. A description of the suspect who fled the vehicle on foot led Wilsonville Police Department to find a person matching that description about 8 minutes later.

Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of 29-year-old Logan Hansen, from Medford, for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, ID Theft, Theft in the Third Degree, and Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree.
