Fatal Motorcycle Crash Highway 214 near Silver Falls State Park
(October 14, 2014, 8:23 pm) SILVERTON, Ore

Oregon State Police, with the assistance of the Marion County Medical Examiner, are continuing the investigation into the cause of a motorcycle crash that resulted in the death of an adult male Monday afternoon.  The crash occurred along Highway 214 near the north boundary of Silver Falls State Park south of Silverton.

Woman Rescued from House Fire
(October 14, 2014, 7:39 pm) MILWAUKIE, Ore

Shortly before 5:00pm Firefighters were called to a report of a residential fire with a person trapped at 3830 SE Adams St. in Milwaukie.  Crews arrived to find smoke coming from the house and were told by the home owner that his wife was still inside, unable to get out.

UPDATE: Welfare Check Turns to Homicide Investigation

Gresham police detectives and the East County Major Crimes Team are attempting to locate Teddy Stivahtis Jr., 36, now considered a suspect in the Oct. 10 stabbing murder of Deanna Stivahtis.  Teddy, who is Deanna's nephew, was seen driving Deanna's van away from her residence before her body was discovered.

Police asking help locatiing Missing Juvenile

Salem Police Detectives are asking for assistance from the public in locating a 14-year old female who is missing from her residence in South Salem.  Chloe Olivia Nelson, a 14-year old white female juvenile, was discovered missing from her residence at approximately 6:00 am on October 14.

Fatal Crash in North Marion County
The Marion County Sheriff's Office responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred on French Prairie Rd NE, north of St. Louis Rd NE at 5:20 pm, today. Sheriff's deputies arrived to find two vehicles involved.

Downed Tree Struck by 4 Vehicles - Highway 22 near Detroit in Marion County
Highway 22 was partially blocked Monday morning for a couple hours after several vehicles struck a downed tree on Highway 22 between Gates and Detroit in Marion County. No vehicle occupants required transport to a hospital and two of the damaged vehicles were towed from the scene.

Deputies Carry Victim and Suspect out of Ravine after Crash
Early Sunday morning, deputies responded to a roll-over crash on Highway 26 where at least one person was ejected and two others fled the scene. They were eventually found and the driver is facing charges.

Welfare Check Turns to Homicide Investigation
Shortly after Noon Saturday, Oct. 11 2014, concerned relatives stopped by 70 year-old Deanna L Strivahtis' home in the 2900 block of N.E. Division Street in Gresham. What they found caused them to call Gresham Police. Upon arrival Officers and Emergency Medical personnel determined she was deceased.

Roll Over Crash Caused by Dead Bear in the Roadway
Two people were injured and their dog died Saturday night in a rollover crash along Interstate 84 near Meacham when the driver lost control after running over a dead bear lying in a traffic lane.

On October 10, 2014 approximately 2:45 p.m., a 2006 Mercedes Benz driven by Jerry Byron (J.B.) Howell, age 80, from Walton, was traveling westbound on Highway 126W near milepost 48 when it traveled across the eastbound lane and off the road, crashing into a tree.
