Retail gas prices are down in 40 states and Washington D.C. this week, with Oregon drivers enjoying the largest weekly drop in the nation of 15 cents, and the largest monthly drop of 48 cents. The Oregon average for regular unleaded is $3.21 which is the lowest price since Feb. 1, 2011.
Men in custody at the Oregon State Correctional Institution recently raised $4,200 for Camp Agape Oregon when they hosted their annual walkathon fundraiser. The event was held on the institution yard to raise money for children of incarcerated parents to attend Camp Agape, a four day experience for children in Lane County who have a parent in prison.

Linn County deputies are investigating the death of a 19-year old man that was struck and killed by a train near Old Salem Road, in Albany. The victim was identified as Luke James Warner, from Brownsville.

Oregon State Police are continuing their investigation into the cause of Thursday morning's cross-over fatal traffic crash that occurred on Interstate 5 in the North Albany area. The Northbound lanes are still closed with a detour in place and one southbound lane, using the shoulder, is open for traffic. Detours are causing trafic backups on frontage roads in the area.
