In June, 2014, the Keizer Police Department received a report from a citizen alleging Jarrod Wells, who lives at 1922 Saundra Lee Way NE in Keizer, Oregon, was selling methamphetamine from his home. This complaint was assigned to the Community Response Unit (CRU) and an investigation was begun.

Linn County Sheriff's detectives served a search warrant at an Oregon State University dormitory following an investigation of child pornography.

Last night at about 9:45 p.m., three vehicles collided on McKay Road NE near Arbor Grove Road NE, between St. Paul and Donald. Investigators believe that a 1994, Ford Explorer being driven by Thomas Michael Wood, age 60, left its lane of travel side swiping a 2005, Chevrolet Avalanche, then running head-on into another vehicle.
McMinnville Police Department says that it learned early this morning that Paul Bute turned himself in at the Ashland Police Department and Reagan was with him. She appears to be unharmed. McMinnvlle police are in conversation with Ashland police to determine what action to take from here.
McMinnville Police are requesting assistance in locating and recovering Reagan M. Bute (age 7), who is illegally in the custody of her father, Paul Robert Bute. Paul Robert Bute is described as a white male adult, age 38, 5'08", 150 pounds, and with brown hair and brown eyes. Reagan Bute is a seven year old white female, approximately 3' 6" and weighs about 60 pounds. She has light brown or dirty blonde shoulder length hair, possibly in a ponytail.
Brooklake Road NE will be closed on November 24, 25, and 26 for railroad crossing repairs.

Today at about 130 p.m., the Marion County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue Teams were activated to search for and rescue four people lost and stuck in the snow. The driver, Robert Record, 44, of Washougal and his three passengers, Eddie Nix, 53, of Vancouver, Shane Lambert, 23, of Washougal and Paul Barry, 26, of Vancouver were driving their rented, 2015, Chevrolet Tahoe trying to reach Bagby Hot Springs.
The Salem Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in locating a runaway who is believed to be endangered. Bethany Desanto, age 15, ran away from a foster home on September 19th.
Alex Solomon, age 20 and Tyde Kaneshiro, age 21, both of Eugene were hiking near Mount Jefferson when they became lost. The men reported they were wearing inadequate clothing for the conditions and carrying no supplies. Luckily, Solomon and Kaneshiro were able to call 911 using their cell phone allowing searchers to obtain their GPS coordinates.
As the girls prepared to cross the street at a cross walk, the male pulled up next to the girls and rolled down his window. The suspect asked the girls, "Can you girls help me with something?" According to the victims the male had his hands on his unexposed genitals when talking to the girls.
A Salem Police Department Narcotics Detection Canine is missing in West Salem. The canine, Rex, escaped from his handler's residence and was last seen near West Salem High School at about 1:30 pm this afternoon. Rex is a 4-year old German Shepard, about 85 lbs and his right ear does not stand up fully.
The victim in this morning's incident has now been identified as 66-year old Michael Hampshire from Salem. An autopsy was completed this afternoon at the State Medical Examiner's Office in Portland, and the manner of death has been ruled as Homicidal Violence.
Salem Police Detectives are currently conducting a death investigation in northeast Salem. At approximately 3:42 am this morning, a citizen reported what appeared to be a body laying near the intersection of D St NE and Winter St NE.
Earl Barnes was crossing Silverton Road from the north to the south, after leaving the plaid pantry when he was hit by a vehicle driving east on Silverton Road in the number two lane.The vehicle struck Barnes with the passenger side of their vehicle. Speed does not appear to be a factor in this case. As mentioned last night, the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and fully cooperated with the investigation.
To night about 10:00 PM a man was killed when he walked into traffic on Silverton Road in Salem. We don't know much at this time, but are in the process of following up with Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
33 year old Salem resident David Diedrich reported that at approximately 4:15 pm he was riding his bicycle westbound on the south sidewalk of Court St NE and just beginning to cross Church St NE when he was struck by a vehicle that was traveling northbound on Church St. When David was struck by the vehicle, both he and his bicycle were thrown up on the hood of the vehicle, then they both fell back to the ground.
After being stranded on a cliff all night a father and son were airlifted by a Navy helicopter off Elk Rock near Mt. St Helens. The call came in last night shortly before 8:00 p.m. in which a woman reported that her husband, Casey Wassel and his 11 year old son, Fisher Wassell, both reside in Toutle Wash, reported to her that they were stranded on a cliff so steep they were at risk of "tipping over".
