An alert Salem Police officer spotted a stolen car in a McDonald's drive through, Hawthorne Av and Market St early Thursday morning and directed other officers into position while the unsuspecting suspect waited in line. When the last car in front of this guy cleared it was his turn.
We have just learned that 47 year old Salem resident, Rudolph Murie, was arrested Monday morning following an incident that began around 11 A.M. when a resident called Salem Police to report a suspicious vehicle, and ended in an altercation with Salem Police.
Salem Police said yesterday that detectives, with the assistance of the Tillamook County Sheriff's Office and Oregon State Police SWAT, arrested a subject on multiple outstanding warrants on the evening of November 13, and then later charged him in the murder
UPDATE: Victim ID. and autopsy results. Salem Police Department says that detectives are investigating a death in northeast Salem. Officers responded to an alley west of the 1800 block of Liberty St NE shortly after 7:00 am Friday morning on a report of an unconscious subject in a vehicle.
Late Thursday morning, a Yamhill County Sheriff Deputy attempted to stop a white 1996 Nissan Altima for a traffic violation on N.E. Alpine Avenue in McMinnville. The driver fled and attempted to elude the deputy, and a pursuit started eventually reaching speeds in excess of 70 mph.
The Early College High School (ECHS), located on the Chemeketa Community College campus was placed in lock down Thursday morning after someone sent a threatening email using a hacked or “swatted” email account.
The Marion county Sheriff's Office says that the SWAT Team executed a search warrant in the 100 block of Oak Street in Gates Tuesday morning. Deputies seized 4 firearms, over 40 grams of methamphetamine and over $4000 in cash.
UPDATE: The Salem Police located a burglary suspect after a tip from someone that saw his picture on social media. Chief Kuhns says that “the Keizer Police Department recognizes and appreciates the alert individuals who identified Noah VanDeventer at Walmart."

A man has died as a result of stab wounds received during an altercation with another man in the Stayton area last night. The victim has been identified as, Jere Moody, age 70, of Stayton. The suspect Samuel Taylor, age 26, of Stayton has been processed into the Marion County Jail
