The Early College High School (ECHS), located on the Chemeketa Community College campus was placed in lock down Thursday morning after someone sent a threatening email using a hacked or “swatted” email account.
The Marion county Sheriff's Office says that the SWAT Team executed a search warrant in the 100 block of Oak Street in Gates Tuesday morning. Deputies seized 4 firearms, over 40 grams of methamphetamine and over $4000 in cash.

UPDATE: The Salem Police located a burglary suspect after a tip from someone that saw his picture on social media. Chief Kuhns says that “the Keizer Police Department recognizes and appreciates the alert individuals who identified Noah VanDeventer at Walmart."
UPDATE: The Woodburn Police say they are still seeking the public's help in locating Pedro "Pete" Munoz Morales, 58. Surveillance footage from the Market Street Fred Meyer in Salem shows Mr. Morales at the store on Oct. 13 at approximately 7 p.m.
The Keizer Police Department is investigating a series of at least three residential burglaries and other crimes that occurred on October 22, 2017 that they believe may have been committed by the same suspect. Here is a surveillance photograph.
A man has died as a result of stab wounds received during an altercation with another man in the Stayton area last night. The victim has been identified as, Jere Moody, age 70, of Stayton. The suspect Samuel Taylor, age 26, of Stayton has been processed into the Marion County Jail

Update: 5 vitims in a deadly crash. Portland Road is now blocked for the investigation into the fatal crash that happened about 4:30 today, says Oregon State Police. OSP has verified that this is a multi fatality crash and the investigation will have the road closed for several hours.
Salem City Council will hold a public hearing on proposed increases to garbage service rates paid by Salem home and business owners. The City says it has historically determined garbage rates on an annual basis by examining market conditions and the garbage service companies' financial statements.
